I love a good challenge. There is almost no better feeling than setting a goal, rising to meet it, and watching yourself annihilate it. Then we set another one. And another. And another….But what happens when we finally reach them? When the mountain climbed, the thing we were chasing finally in our hands… what then..Can we sit comfortably and enjoy the quiet flow of life? Or are we already chasing the next thing… higher, better, more? I’m currently reading The Tao of the Pooh for a class and something in it struck me yesterday..Pooh isn’t worried about climbing higher or getting more. He simply enjoys the honey, the sunshine, the moment he’s in. It reminded me that life isn’t only about the harvest..it’s enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Nature teaches us something important. There is a season for preparation.. A season for sowing.. A season for harvest and reaping. But woven between all of those seasons is something many of us struggle with…The waiting. The waiting season asks for patience. It asks us to remain steady when nothing dramatic seems to be happening. This is how meditation became a daily practice for me. The majority of our life is not spent arriving. It is spent in the space between.Goals are beautiful and achievement is powerful. There is nothing wrong with wanting to grow and better yourself. But learning the balance between striving and simply being is essential if you ever want to truly enjoy this journey 🖤 🍯
