Transformation vs. Adjustment: What Do You Really Want?

Do we really want transformation…or do we want adjustment with conditions? Do we want renewal or do we want change that still fits inside the life we’ve already built? We say we want to BUT only as long as it doesn’t cost us too much.As long as our reputation stays intact. As long as we get to keep the house, the neighborhood, the car..the friend group…As long as we can sit on the same pew we’ve sat in for years, surrounded by the same people who understand us…or at least don’t challenge us….But real transformation doesn’t ask for comfort. It asks for surrender. It asks can you let go of what looks good on the outside for transformation of the internal? Can you release the identity you’ve spent years protecting to become who you were actually meant to be? What if transformation means you’re called somewhere new? That you let go of certain relationships, jobs, habits.. what if it cost you everything you cling to so tightly. What if it means standing alone in a room where no one agrees with you? What if it costs you approval? Familiarity Belonging? Can you allow a process to unfold that strips you down to truth? Can you trust that what you’re being asked to release is NOT being taken from you but transforming into something greater?Or…Do you only want change as long as it stays within your limits? Because there is a difference between transformation and controlled adjustment. One will change your life. The other will keep you comfortable enough to stay the same. So the real question is..Are you willing to go to any length?
