Chasing your dreams can feel discouraging. I stand on the fact that you have to be a little delusional to keep going. Every cell in your body has to believe that what you’re after is possible. You have to align your emotions with that belief, feel it deeply, and then chase it with everything you’ve got.Sometimes that means climbing alone. Maybe you’re the only one who believes you can reach the top of the mountain. Maybe you’re the only one strong enough to stand at that altitude. But if you know you’re meant to get there, it won’t matter who turns back, who doubts you, or who walks away. You stand. You keep climbing.
I’ll be honest, there are days when discouragement creeps in, even for me. By nature, I’m an optimist, almost irritatingly so. But the first time I ever felt true defeat was when I faced the reality of being an alcoholic. For a moment, I thought that was the bitter end, that maybe I couldn’t make it out. That maybe there wasn’t a light at the end of the tunnel, freedom was something I would never have from those chains. Sobriety felt like my Mount Everest, completely impossible to climb.
And yet, here I am.
So when discouragement whispers that I can’t chase my dreams, I pause and reflect. If I could overcome what once felt impossible, if I could climb that mountain, then nothing else is out of reach. Maybe you feel stuck, maybe you feel like you don’t have any victories to look back on. Borrow mine. Use my story as proof that nothing is impossible. It’s my divine calling to share my story, to offer a lamp to those stumbling in darkness.
There is power in your words. There is power in your thoughts. Stay optimistic. Don’t stop chasing your dreams when it gets hard, lean in. Rest when you need to. Reflect on how far you’ve come. But don’t quit. You have an appointment with what’s meant for you, just you.
Chasing your dreams requires a little delusion, a lot really..believe in the impossible until it becomes your reality.
